A man in New York has his dog to thank for winning a huge lottery jackpot.
Dale Farrand walked into a convenience store to buy his dog Boots some Slim Jims as a snack.
While there, he was inspired to buy a $30 Cash Spectacular scratch-off lottery ticket.
And sure enough, that ticket was a big winner – to the tune of $10 million.
Dale and his wife chose to take the lump-sum payment of $6.7 million and will use the money to pay off their mortgage, make home improvements and help their children and grandchildren.
Hopefully, Dale puts a little of that money aside for a nice treat – or a lifetime’s worth of treats – for Boots. (New York Daily News)
