Feel Good: Firefighter Reads To Calm Little Girl After Crash

A viral picture shows the moment when a firefighter reads to a little girl after she survives a car crash in Montana. On a recent evening, firefighters in Billings responded to a two-vehicle accident. Although no injuries were reported, both cars were un-drivable.

Ryan Benton from Billings Engine 4 was one of the responders and he noticed one of the passengers was a young girl. He took a book and started reading to her to get her mind off of the accident while her parents dealt with having their car towed. A bystander snapped a pic of the touching moment and posted it on social media.

A spokesperson for Billings Firefighters,Cameron Abell says that when firefighters respond to emergencies they always carry a bag with toys and books to help kids out during a scary situation. "The idea was anytime we are on an emergency with a child we can have something to give to the parents/child and help them have something to take their mind off of the event," he says. "As this photo shows, our people are the light on a cold scary night. They will be there for you when your darkest moment happens."
