HUGE Pumpkin Disqualified From $20,000 Prize

In a pumpkin growing contest, you'd think that everyone would be focused on the hugeness of the gourd...but the judges need to get out their magnifying glasses too.

A farmer in Wisconsin named Mike Schmit grew a 2,520-pound pumpkin, which would've been the heaviest grown in the country this year. It also would've earned him a prize of more than $20,000. But it was disqualified due to an imperfection.

Mike says there was a tiny, fingernail-sized crack that developed due to internal pressure from the pumpkin's large size and the awkward way it was growing. But he isn't upset. He said, quote, "It happens. There's no crying in pumpkin growing."
