Lainey Wilson hasn't been on the public's radar all that long. Though she's been playing country music for more than a decade, she first came to prominence when her single "Things A Man Oughta Know" hit #1 on country radio back in 2020. Since then, she's been a hit machine, scoring three more solo country hits that each hit #1 or #2, and three duets that have either hit #1 or #2 on the country charts. So who exactly is Lainey Wilson? The whole world is about to find out.
Lainey will be the subject of a documentary special being produced by Robin Roberts' production unit at ABC News Studios, and will air on Hulu next month. Of Lainey, Roberts says, "I look forward to telling stories about talented women who are strong and authentic. Lainey is definitely one of those women, and I can’t wait to share her uplifting story with audiences around the world." The special will trace Wilson's beginnings in Louisiana, feature interviews with family members and BTS looks at her life as a country superstar.
The documentary special premieres on Hulu May 29.
