I've been married to my darling Ron since November of 2004 and I collect pigs...seriously-- I have thousands! :-)I'm very proud to be a 6-year breast cancer survivor, so needless to say breast cancer awareness is extremely important to Ron & me... including Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the American Cancer Society. CMA Fest Wrap-Up!
Carrie Underwood closed out the 2013 CMA Music Festival on Sunday... with a little help from Brad Paisley, of course!
There were a number of all-star collaborations & surprise performances over the weekend.
CMA World
Tim McGraw, Kenny Rogers, Kid Rock, Jason Mraz, Sheryl Crow, Lenny Kravitz and Trisha Yearwoodwere among the surprise guests who crashed the sold-out concerts at LP Field, giving the 80,000 fans in the stands an epic concert experiences each night over the four-day event.
All those who participated in this year’s festival played for free, with proceeds benefiting local music education through Keep the Music Playing. In case you couldn't make it, Little Big Town will host the CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock concert special on August 12th on ABC. Here are some of the highlights:
THURSDAY
- Keith Urban and Tim McGraw crashed Taylor Swift’s LP Field set to perform Tim’s latest number-one hit “Highway Don’t Care.”
- Kenny Rogers later joined Zac Brown Band for “The Gambler.” Kid Rock also sat in with ZBB for Grand Funk Railroad’s “We’re An American Band.”
FRIDAY
CMA World
- Blake Shelton appeared unannounced at the Fan Fair X exhibit hall to meet with fans before the semi finals start on The Voice this week in Los Angeles.
- Billed as “Thunder Locomotive,” Hunter Hayes delivered a surprise set at the free Chevrolet Riverfront stage. Later that evening, Jason Mraz crashed Hunter’s show at LP Field. The pair sang Hunter’s new song “Everybody’s Got Somebody But Me.”
- Sheryl Crow was the surprise guest during Little Big Town’s LP Field performance. Sheryl sang her debut country single “Easy” and had the group join her for “I Wanna Soak Up The Sun.”
SATURDAY
- Dierks Bentley took his daughter Jordan to watch him sit-in with the Grascals on Saturday at the Chevy Riverfront Stage. Jordan apparently didn't want to leave and cried when it was time to make her dad's next engagement.

- Surprise guest Lenny Kravitz scored a five-song set at LP Field, following last week’s incendiary collaboration with Jason Aldean at the 2013 CMT Music Awards. Jason and Lenny reprised their CMTMA performance of “American Woman.” Jason stayed on stage to sing Lenny’s “Are You Gonna Go My Way.”
- Kelly Clarkson broke intermittently during her LP Field performance to worry about her missing yellow diamond engagement ring. She revealed mid-show, “I’m secretly freaking out about where my ring is right now. I know [my fiancé] Brandon [Blackstock] is probably having a heart attack.” Jason returned to the stage to join Kelly on “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” while Trisha Yearwood joined Kelly mid-way through her Garth Brooks cover “Ain’t Going Down ‘Til the Sun Comes Up.” Kelly later tweeted, “For all of the concerned fans, I found my rings! Seriously, panicked in my head all night long … So did Brandon haha!”
SUNDAY
- Threats of severe weather forced the Band Perry, Brad Paisley, Jake Owen and Carrie Underwood to abbreviate their sets.
- Brad kicked off his set with "Karate," which featured surprise guest Charlie Daniels on fiddle.
