Omaha Restaurant Week is about to be underway and I had the opportunity to take my family and get a "Sneak Peek" of what Sullivan's Steakhouse will be offering this year.

Executive Chef Chris Daley and General Manager Andy Stephens inside the wine cellar at Sullivan's Steakhouse - located at 15th & Farnum in Omaha.

First, let me say that when my wife and I go out for dinner with our girls, typically it involves ordering by number off of a value menu.  So for us, this was a real treat to eat somewhere "fancy".  That's the really cool thing about Omaha Restaurant Week.  You have the opportunity to experience some of the best restaurants that Omaha has to offer.  Maybe these are restaurants you visit often, or maybe these are restaurants that you've always wanted to try.  Participating restaurants offer a three-course dinner for a fixed price of either $19, $29 or $39 per person.  CLICK HERE to see the list of participating restaurants.   Now's the time to dine!!!

This was the menu that we were given

We started the night off by being greeted warmly by the hostess at Sullivan's, and were quickly seated to our table.  One of the first comments my wife said to me was, "this seems like this restaurant should be in Chicago or New York. It just feels so cool and classy in here."

Kristi was our waitress, who did an amazing job of explaining how the O-R-W menu works.  Sullivan's has a variety of options to chose from for $39 per person.  Your first instinct might be..."wow - kinda pricey".  But I'm telling you - it's worth every penny!!

Iceberg Lettuce Wedge with Bluecheese Dressing

Asparagus Bisque

We ordered our appetizers (shown above) and looked forward to our entree's arriving.

The 8oz filet mignon was one of the best steaks I've ever had!!!  Cooked by Executive Chef Chris to perfection

My wife ordered the Roasted Chicken served Picatta style...and oh was it tastey!  Notice those mashed potatoes tucked under the chicken!

This was 12oz NY Strip that my oldest daughter ordered.  It was amazing! Great flavor!!

The "sides" were really good too.

I really liked the creamed corn (what can I say, I'm born and raised in Nebraska, I had to order corn).  It had a bit of a zip to it and was really good.  The corn was freshly picked!

The mashed potatoes were a big hit with our girls.  In fact, I don't think there were any left on the table when we were done.

When enjoying a "night out" like this, we went full-steam into the evening and wanted to enjoy every moment...and that meant saving room for dessert.

Both girls enjoyed the Chocolate Moouse

This is now one of my all-time favorite desserts!  Sullivan's Bananas Foster Bread Pudding.  I've never been a huge fan of bananas or bread pudding...until I experienced them together at Sullivan's.  WOW!!!

My wife said the NY Cheescake was awesome!!!

The entire experience at Sullivan's was amazing.  From the time we walked in, to the time we wrapped up the evening, we enjoyed every moment.  General Manager - Andy Stephens and his crew know how to treat customers.  You have lots of options when it comes to dining out, I just hope that you choose Sullivan's Steakhouse. Not just during Omaha Restaurant Week, but anytime you are looking for a special night out.  They are easy to find at 15th & Farnum!

During the 10-days of Omaha Restaurant Week, I hope you get the opportunity to got out and enjoy some of the best restaurants that Omaha has to offer.  There are lots of them!!  Have some fun with friends and family on your food voyage around Omaha.

This was a night that our family won't forget anytime soon.
